Featured Photo: The Sale Shop

A sweet alleyway down Queen street, full of small cafes and beautiful shops.

Inside of the window is actually a wallpaper that was designed to look like a reflection of buildings from the 1900’s. I made the reflections more vibrant and added detail to the photo using exposure and contrast features on Darktable. This helped make the photo look more eye-catching. I used the golden spiral composition technique, on which the subject of the photo was the sign saying ‘the sale shop’. I used a vignette to highlight the ‘the sale shop’ sign to emphasise the subject in my golden spiral composition.

I tried to make the atmosphere of the photo old, but also having modern elements hidden in the photo, such as the lights in the reflection in the window or the air conditioning at the top-left side of the photo.
